It’s St. Patrick’s Day today! I’ve celebrated St. Patrick’s Day in some way for as long as I can remember. We’re not Irish but I did go to parochial school. If you weren’t Filipino or Italian, you were most likely Irish. =D Eons and eons ago, every St. Paddy’s Day, my classmates and I always wore something green with our grade school uniform. I’ve been wearing green every March 17 since those days.
My challenge submission for this week is not a zentangle tile but a zentangle-inspired drawing.
All day I was trying to figure out which St. Patrick’s Day symbol to use as my tangle string – a pot of gold? lucky charms? St. Patrick himself? I had almost decided on drawing a golden horseshoe surrounded by shamrocks but as I was walking home from work, I collided into drunken twenty-somethings who were dressed in green and topped off with some kind of green hat. So, I decided to draw the image below. To me, St. Patrick’s Day is also a day to drink green Guinness beer, dance an Irish jig, kiss the styrofoam Blarney Stone, and hang out with leprechauns wearing green top hats.
“In Heaven there is no beer that’s why we drink it here.” – Irish Saying
